Beginning May 15 and running through July 4, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has launched the “50 Days, 50 States, 50 Pastors” prayer campaign. A pastor from each of the 50 states will lead us in prayer for our country at 12 noon everyday from May 15th - July 4th. Join this national prayer movement today at OneNationUnderGod.com or on the BGEA Facebook page.
“Join me for 50 days of prayer for America. This is a critical moment in our history, and I am asking Christians across this country to commit to praying every day as we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary on July 4. There is nothing more powerful that we can do for our country, our churches, and our families than to come together in prayer before God Almighty.” – Franklin Graham
A dear Sister in Christ shared the following prayer for our nation and communities. Thank you, for sharing this precious prayer, especially in these trying times.
"Godly People To Shepherd Us"
In these times of trouble, Lord,
we bow before you in humility
as we look to you who holds the future.
We bow under your sovereign authority as Lord over us.
We pray and ask for that you raise up Godly leaders
to shepherd us and our community.
We ask for businesses that will flourish
and edify our little community:
We ask for schools, better hospital care and elderly care.
We ask that our churches continue to preach truth
as you have given it to us in your word,
that many people might believe.
We pray against all things and businesses
that will cause harm to our community,
to our state, and to our nation.
We pray against
the drugs, violence, abortion, gambling
at the expense of livelihoods, and all other sins
against humanity and against your Holy Name.
We pray for the salvation of all our enemies.
We pray for our current President,
that you will keep him steadfast, governing with justice
and mercy, putting a hedge of protection around him.
We pray for all those whose duty it is to protect our country,
that they also perform their duties with honesty, humility, and integrity.
We pray for our brothers and sisters in all places in the world
who are persecuted and suffering for your Name’s sake.
We ask you to strengthen them, uphold them with your Spirit,
as you work out your purposes in every place where they are;
that same Spirit who enables us to pray for the salvation of our enemies,
that through the love of Christ your Son, they may be saved from wrath.
We ask forgiveness for our sins as a nation, as a state,
and we ask for forgiveness individually for our sins of
complacency and neglect and indifference
and tolerance of things that should not be,
that you might have mercy on us and heal our land,
and that we might have strength to stand firm
in whatever your will and purpose is for us today.
We ask that you guard over your people everywhere,
their families and homes, that your glory might shine through them
and through us for Your Name’s sake. We love you, and we pray
and ask in Christ’s Holy and precious Name.
Amen.
